Lifetime Furniture Company
Two-door bookcase, c.1905
oak with copper-plated hardware
49"h x 46"w x 13"d
$1900
This is a beautiful, well-made and
useful bookcase by one of the more interesting firms in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. Chunky through-tenons, beefy proportions and remarkable
wood selection make this a very pleasing piece to look at and own. I
am having a hard time, honestly, deciding whether I think it is original
finish or a very old overcoat. In any event, there is nice patina to
the wood, and the quarter-sawn figuring is really wonderful, as is the
case with most of the pieces made in the period in Grand Rapids.

Bros.
Cane-sided Prairie-style library table, c.1910
oak with original cane
30"h x 40"w x 26"d
$2800
This is a beautiful, elegant
little table in extraordinary original condition and finish. I
personally like these caned pieces a lot. They are precise, simple,
beautifully-proportioned and elegant. Not everyone has caught on to
their appeal yet, but they will, and the prices will no doubt
increase. Buy this table now, and show everyone else how prescient
you were!
