Magazine stand with cut-out sides, c.1905
chestnut 44"h x 18"w x 14"d
$1800
Who doesn't have just the spot
for this kind of piece? Ideal for a special collection of pottery,
currently-read books, small electronic equipment, and so on. The
cut-outs on the sides give it a vaguely English feel, and serve to enliven
the design. In pristine original condition, it beautifully demonstrates
why Gustav Stickley praised the virtues of chestnut so highly - the depth
of color and figuring are beautiful. An additional detail that is so
subtle it has to be the result of a skilled and mature designer: the
through-tenons are gently rounded. Click on the picture for a larger

Stickley
Bros.
Cane-sided Prairie-style library table, c.1910
oak with original cane
30"h x 40"w x 26"d
$2800
This is a beautiful, elegant
little table in extraordinary original condition and finish. I
personally like these caned pieces a lot. They are precise, simple,
beautifully-proportioned and elegant. Not everyone has caught on to
their appeal yet, but they will, and the prices will no doubt
increase. Buy this table now, and show everyone else how prescient
you were!
