Rustic Hickory Furniture
Company
Oval center or dining table, c.1920
hickory with oak top 30"h x 72" x 42"
$4500
This is a fantastic
and extremely rare piece in outstanding original condition. It came
from a rustic camp in upper Michigan, and apparently has never been
used. I have never seen another one like it - everyone who comes in
is immediately drawn to it, whether they like rustic style pieces or not.

Magazine stand with cut-out sides, c.1905
chestnut 44"h x 18"w x 14"d
$1800
Who doesn't have just the spot
for this kind of piece? Ideal for a special collection of pottery,
currently-read books, small electronic equipment, and so on. The
cut-outs on the sides give it a vaguely English feel, and serve to enliven
the design. In pristine original condition, it beautifully demonstrates
why Gustav Stickley praised the virtues of chestnut so highly - the depth
of color and figuring are beautiful. An additional detail that is so
subtle it has to be the result of a skilled and mature designer: the
through-tenons are gently rounded. Click on the picture for a larger
image and see what I mean.

Cane-sided Prairie-style library table, c.1910
oak with original cane
$2800
This is a beautiful, elegant
little table in extraordinary original condition and finish. I
personally like these caned pieces a lot. They are precise, simple,
beautifully-proportioned and elegant. Not everyone has caught on to
their appeal yet, but they will, and the prices will no doubt
increase. Buy this table now, and show everyone else how prescient
you were!

Stickley Bros
Postcard desk, c.1905
oak with copper hardware
35"h x 36"w x 23"d
$2400
In the Arts & Crafts period, letter writing held a far
greater place in people's lives than it does today. Personal and
house-hold correspondence was generally the pervue of the wife, and
consequently many desks were designed on a delicate, decorative model in
order to accommodate this task with style. This little desk is
typical of the type, with small drawers in the gallery to hold writing and
postage supplies, and a large center drawer below the writing surface to
hold sheets of stationery and other large items. This is a great
piece for a corner of the living room or even as a bedside table or
bedroom piece
