| These two pictures clearly show the importance of wall color in how a room feels. The view on the left, with white walls, is fine enough, but the room lacks, for want of a better word, richness, despite the fact that all the furniture and decorative objects in it are of the highest quality. The same room, at the same time of day, but with a rich, warm, dark wall color, has sparkle, and feels much more inviting, exciting and enveloping. The painting above the sideboard glows, and the gold and brass accents shine against the darker walls. I also painted the radiator a dark metallic paint, and it becomes a sculptural object along with the furniture.
