The Dana house, designed in 1902 by Frank Lloyd Wright in Springfield, Illinois, was technically a remodeling of a Victorian house. When the sprawling structure was finally completed, only one wall of the original building remained. This beautiful rug is based on a rendering of the Dana interior from the influential Wasmuth portfolio, a monograph on Wright's work published in Berlin in 1910. Interestingly, an original rug of this design surfaced a few years ago from Wright's Francis Little house, in Peoria, of the same year.
